Dear Member,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Retail Merchants
Association, I cordially invite you to attend our Annual Awards Luncheon on
Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Bushnell in Hartford, CT. This year's event
will be held in the Autorino Great Hall at The Bushnell. The Max Restaurant
Group will once again cater the event (they are the parent company to Max
Downtown, Max a Mia, Max Amore, Max's Oyster Bar, Trumbull Kitchen and Max's
Tavern).
In addition to our Annual Awards Luncheon, this year we are very pleased to once
again offer guests the chance to join us for a legislative panel discussion
beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Seaverns Room of the Bushnell. The panelists
included are Senate President Don Williams, Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore
Len Fasano, House Majority Leader Christopher Donovan and House Minority Leader
Larry Cafero. The panel will be moderated by Channel 30’s chief political
reporter Tom Monahan.
CRMA is very excited that 4 top legislative leaders in the State have agreed to
attend this event which promises to be lively and informative. The leaders will
give us a preview of the 2009 Legislative Session as well as discuss any number
of topics that impact retailers. There is no additional cost for this event but
space is limited.
The legislative panel will run from 10:00 am until 11:30. Following the
legislative panel, registration for the awards luncheon will begin with the
luncheon and awards presentation at 12:00 noon. Included in this letter is the
registration form; please return this form ASAP in order to secure your seat.
Tickets for the event are $60.00 per person. You may reserve tables of 8 for
$450.00. Personal or corporate checks are acceptable as well as Visa, MasterCard
and American Express. Parking is available at (3) Pro Park Lots; please see the
attached parking information.
The 2008 Retailer of the Year will be announced in the upcoming weeks in our
weekly e-newsletter, the Friday Facts. At CRMA this is the highest honor we
bestow upon a retailer and this year our committee is reviewing a number of
outstanding candidates. The award recipient will be honored during a special
ceremony at this year’s Annual Luncheon.
